Is there a fee to stay at Elsie's House?
Yes. Program fees are calculated for each client based on income and debt. A lack of financial resources is not a barrier to admission.
How long can I stay at Elsie's House?
Clients are able to apply anytime during pregnancy and up to the baby's 1st year. How long a woman can stay at Elsie's House varies depending on the unique circumstances of each mother and whether she arrives pregnant or parenting.
How do I apply for the Elsie's House Program?

Do I have to share a bedroom?
No. At Elsie's House each client will have their own bedroom that they will share with their baby upon arrival. All living spaces will be shared with staff and other clients of Elsie's House
Does Elsie's House provide 24/7 care?
No. Elsie's House is not staffed 24/7. There is an office on site that the staff work from, and clients are able to reach the staff in a case of emergency. We do have cameras monitoring the property for the safety of our clients.
What are the requirements to be part of this program?
All clients must be a legal adult, and either be pregnant or a new mom. For more information regarding eligibility please contact the Elsie's House staff.
How can I donate?
If you are donating money, you can click our donate button posted below. If you prefer to mail a cheque or make an e-transfer, please call, or email the staff team. Any donations that are eligible for a tax receipt will receive one.
What items do you accept for donations?
Elsie's House accepts gently used baby items including cribs, bassinets, play mats, baby carriers, etc. We also accept clean clothing for boys and girls up to 24 months. Other than used car seats, we accept anything a baby can use in the first 2 years of life, that is in gently used condition.
